When God Feels Late
I know we have all experienced that waiting period after we've prayed the same prayer so many times. The kind of prayers that end in tears, asking God, why?
We trust that God's timing is perfect, and yet the situation stays the same.
The door is closed. ......The silence is loud......... No answers.
You desperately hope He will give you that sign you've been waiting for. That He will send someone to tell you everything you've been praying to hear.
And after a while, our humanity comes into play. We sit there wondering, God, why have You left me? Why are You silent when I need You desperately?
Most of us never say that out loud because it feels like admitting how imperfect we are. It feels like admitting that our faith falters just like everyone else's.
Sometimes faith doesn't feel like confidence. Sometimes it looks like sitting there, staring off into space, telling God, "I know You haven't really left. I still trust You, but I don't understand."
Silence is not absence.
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!" — Psalm 27:14
We may not understand the timing or see how He is still working in our lives.
But faith doesn't mean knowing the whole story. It means trusting the One who does.
If you are waiting right now, you don't have to pretend it's easy. Bring God the disappointment. Bring Him the questions. Bring Him the tears.
Just don't mistake waiting for being forgotten.
Keep waiting. Keep praying. Keep trusting.
Your story isn't over yet.
Prayer
God, When the waiting feels too long and Your silence feels heavy, remind me that You have not left me. Help me trust you
when I cannot understand. Give me strength to keep waiting, courage to keep praying, and faith to believe You are still working, even when I cannot see it.
Amen
